April, Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)

I’ve been with Dr Martinson since he opened Sterling Pointe Family Dentistry, and before we opened, I helped set up the treatment rooms and instrument processing center. My duties now include assisting doctor at chairside, ordering dental supplies, teaching oral hygiene to our patients, and generally helping run the treatment area of the office.

I received my dental assistant certification and x-ray license through the Marysville High School R.O.P. program. Later, while working as a dental assistant, I trained at Sacramento City College and achieved my RDA license.

While not working, I enjoy going dancing and spending time with friends and family. But most of my free time is spent remodeling my own older home.

I enjoy working at Sterling Pointe Family Dentistry, because Dr. Martinson is one of the best dentists I’ve ever worked for, and because all of the staff work well together for our patient’s benefit.

Crystle, Dental assistant (DA)

I am a dental assistant at Sterling Pointe Family Dentistry. In my senior year at Rocklin High School, I did an internship at Dr Martinson’s dental office through Auburn R.O.P. program. During this internship, I learned dental assisting in both classroom and on the job. After graduation, I was hired as a full-time employee with the duties of chairside assisting, instrument processing, and front-office assisting.

I like working at Sterling Pointe Family Dentistry with Dr. Martinson and all our staff. Relationships have been built with our patients and I love coming to work, meeting new patients and seeing our existing patients. I am very family oriented and love spending time with my family, which makes working here at SPFD a great place, because we have all become very close and are much like a family.

When I am not working, I enjoy staying active doing many things. Since I was very young, I have enjoyed playing many sports and I continue to love any kind of sport and outdoor activity. Shopping and dining out are also great pleasures of mine, so if you ever need a review on a local restaurant, I can probably help.

Holly Torres, Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)

I graduated from Santa Rosa Community College dental hygiene program in 2002. Before that, I worked as a dental assistant in an endodontic office for three years. I have been working with Dr. Martinson as a hygienist since 2006. My duties include periodontal therapy, cleaning teeth, and teaching patients to care for their teeth and gums. I am also trained in the use of our periodontal laser.

Working at Sterling Pointe Family Dentistry has been rewarding to me because of the high moral and ethical philosophy we all share in treating our patients. We all truly care about the well-being of our patients...and it shows.

While not working, I love to spend time with my family (I have two little girls), outdoor activities and especially camping.

Janie, Office Manager

I have been in the dental field since 1979, starting as a dental assistant, and then learning to run the "front office". Over that time, I have worked with several dentists, and I can honestly say that I am very happy working with Dr. Martinson and our whole team. Dr. Martinson is not only a great dentist, but also a great boss.

I now prefer working in the business end of the practice, and I will probably be the first one you meet when you walk in. I schedule appointments, assist patients with their insurance, coordinate treatment with other dental specialists, and help patients with any of the business-related aspects of our practice. I enjoy making patients feel at ease, so they will have a great experience here at Sterling Pointe Family Dentistry.

When not working, I like to spend time with my husband and our two dogs, Abby and Savannah.

Heidi, Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)

Before becoming a dental hygienist, I worked as a Registered Dental Assistant for 15 years. I then received my RDH license from Sacramento City College in 1995. I like working at Sterling Pointe Family Dentistry because of the philosophy of the practice: putting patients interests first with high quality of care and kind, friendly service.

I enjoy being a part-time RDH and part-time business owner (running a hygienist placement service). I am also involved with presenting continuing education courses for other hygienists, and this keeps me very motivated and interested in the field of dental hygiene.

When not working, I enjoy gardening and home improvement projects.
